My humble abode in Boston was not exactly a "fixer-upper" - it was actually one of the nicest places that I could afford, equipped with 20th-century amenities that are still rare in Boston (which seems stuck in the 1800's). However, it was desperately in need of stylistic change (and a bit of touching-up) here and there. To honor the great Bauhaus architects (and to increase resale value), I am pursuing a simplistic interior that maximizes space while minimizing clutter. The ultimate goal will be a style harmonious with that of the International/Bauhaus Style architects - Mies Van der Rohe, Gropius, Breuer, Le Corbusier, and others. So, together with a small but determined army, I have embarked on a journey of frustration, sorrow, pain, and exhaustion. Along the way, I have gained strength, knowledge, an eye for beauty, and a deep appreciation for my steadfast cohorts. With that said, I will NEVER AGAIN purchase, or attempt to renovate, another old Boston brownstone.
